An important aspect of our provision at Askovgaarden is the unique way of working. It is based on humanistic principles where people are seen as individuals, active and creative in their own local community. We see a close relationship between the individual, the network (families,etc.), and the society and we are working for a balance between these factors.

The purpose of Askovgaarden is to facilitate social work in local communities and be at the disposal of local citizens by providing social, cultural and educational facilities. Askovgaarden aims to implement new strategies of social work, and participate in the debate about social policy, health and also the relationship between citizen and society, - but free from any party-political bias.

The Askovgaarden Settlement has a broad range of activities within the social work field. Different activities have grown from the needs of local inhabitants.
Askovgården continues to develop new strategies and new methods in the field of social work, as we see the social field as the place where very important co-operation between citizens, volunteers and professionals can work for social and personal integration into society.

Quality of life is one of the fundamental aspects of our work. Activities cover a broad range including the cultural - social - and social/cultural treatment fields.
